Aviation medicals can be conducted from our three Sydney Locations:
Assist Group conducts all components of the medical in house in one visit (ECG, blood tests, audiograms, etc). We have a special VIP arrangement with a local cardiologist with reduced waiting times and pricing for any ECG Stress Tests.
Please note we do not have an on staff Aviation Ophthalmologist, however we can refer you to one upon request.
As part of completing your aviation medical you are required to bring along your Aviation Reference Number (ARN). If you haven’t applied for your number yet, you can start by downloading an application form. Please note, we cannot submit your medical assessment to CASA prior to receiving your ARN.
Class 1 - This class of medical assessment is to be completed by those requiring a Commercial Pilot License (CPL), Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) or Flight Engineer (FLTENG) License
Class 2 - This class of medical assessment is to be completed by those requiring a Student Pilot License (SPL), Private Pilot License (PPL), Flight Radio Operator License (FROL) or Commercial Pilot Balloons (CPB)
Class 3 - This class of medical assessment is to be completed by those requiring a Airline Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) license or Flight Service officer (FSO) licence.
Class One and Class Three:
As this will be the first time you will have completed a CASA medical, you will complete an initial medical assessment, which includes the standard medical assessment, audiogram, static ECG and fasting blood test. You will also need to organize to have an eye examination with a CASA accredited ophthalmologist (DAO).
Class Two:
An initial class two CASA medical consists of the standard medical assessment only. You are not required to undergo any further testing unless requested by CASA to support or detail any previous/current medical condition.
Validity periods are dependent upon both type and age. The table below shows how long each of the classes is valid for.
