What Do Lung Function Tests Test For?

Lung function tests don’t directly diagnose a condition on their own. Instead, they contribute to the overall diagnosis, which also considers symptoms, signs, and medical history.

Tests like spirometry, gas diffusion, and lung volume measurements can help determine the presence of obstructive lung diseases such as COPD, asthma, or bronchiectasis.

Is a Spirometry Test The Same as a Lung Function Test?
